Fishing in Fiji

Like most Tropical Islands in the Pacific, the fishing in Fiji is fantastic, but the difference here is that it is so easily accessible.

Many resorts will offer fishing activities which may or may not be included in the room rate and usually cater for the casual angler who wants to experience some tropical Fiji fishing fun – usually on the end of a strong bottom fishing handline.

If you are a bit more serious however, Fiji has a number of professional Sport & Game fishing operators who really know their stuff and can satisfy your piscatorial urges whatever they may be. Excellent options for fishing in Fiji can vary from light tackle trolling for Pelagics such as Spanish Mackerel(Walu), Wahoo and Tuna or casting big poppers over reef edges for monster GTs and Coral Trout. Heavy tackle blue water charters are also available on well equipped game boats if you have the desire and the dollars. They can take you to some amazing offshore islands and seamounts where the size and ferocity of the local predators will amaze you.
