Fiji Buses

Travelling on Fiji buses or other Fiji public transport is an adventure in itself.

Fiji has an extensive bus network on the larger islands. There are the local open windowed buses or the modern air-conditioned coaches. Both are inexpensive in getting around. If you have the opportunity to hop on a local Fiji bus, it is a great way to mingle with the locals and see a small glimpse of their daily life.

There are also carriers which are multi-passenger vans. They will travel much further than taxis for a lower rate. For example to catch a Viti van (one of the carriers) from Suva to one of the resorts on the coral coast approximately 1.5 hrs from Suva, will only cost $5.00 – $10.00 per person. Bargain with them if the fare seems too high.
